TriCor is a prescription medication in a class of drugs called fibrates, which are effective at targeting fatty triglycerides when used with a healthy diet. TriCor works by breaking down fatty particles in the blood.1

TriCor is a pill you take once a day, with or without food. When used along with a healthy diet—and depending on your specific cholesterol condition—TriCor can help:
TriCor should only be used when other measures, such as diet and exercise, have not been enough. TriCor is used along with diet in adults to lower triglycerides, total cholesterol, and bad cholesterol (LDL), and increase good cholesterol (HDL). TriCor is also used along with diet in adults to lower severely high triglycerides. Improving blood sugar control in certain people with diabetes may prevent the need for cholesterol drug therapy. TriCor was not shown to reduce the risk of having heart problems in patients with type 2 diabetes.
If you’re concerned about your cholesterol and triglyceride levels and diet and exercise aren’t doing enough, ask your doctor if TriCor may help improve your levels.
